The Iu Mien Food Bank is an incredible project launched in July 2022 in response to the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting high inflation. Mien International Enrichment Network, in partnership with Iu Mien American Association, Mien Association of Washington, Mien Evangelical Church, and Food Lifeline, to launch the project. The initiative aims to provide vital food assistance to 75-100 families in the Iu Mien community weekly. The project has also attracted the attention of the Emergency Feeding Program organization, which has partnered with the project to expand its distribution to multiple sites. The Iu Mien Food Bank is an important project that helps vulnerable families make ends meet during difficult times. It provides a vital lifeline to many in the Iu Mien community, enabling them to access nutritious food and focus on their more pressing needs.
