The COVID-19 Relief Project is a collaborative effort between Mien International Enrichment Network, the King County government, King County - Seattle Public Health, the US Department of Agriculture, and local community organizations to provide relief to families impacted by the pandemic.

The project aims to provide emergency food distribution, rental assistance, digital equity, and mobile vaccination clinics to help vulnerable communities meet the challenges presented by the virus. These services are designed to help families make ends meet even if they have lost a breadwinner and provide resources to help mitigate the spread of the virus.

The project is a testament to the power of collaboration and demonstrates how working together can bring about meaningful change in the lives of those affected by the pandemic. The COVID-19 Relief Project is a beacon of hope and a shining example of how people can come together to make a difference.

Emergency Food Distribution

In August 2020, our consortium connected with King County to initiate the USDA From Farmers to Families Emergency Food Distribution project. We held multiple distributions at various regional locations and soon realized that our communities required different food items. To better meet their needs, we decided to raise funds to purchase food items from local Asian grocery stores and farmers' markets that more closely aligned with the dietary preferences of the population we served. As a result of our efforts, we provided culturally appropriate food items to our community members, ensuring they had access to the supplies they needed during this time of crisis.

PPE Distributions

The PPE Distribution project aimed to help those affected during the pandemic who could not afford to buy or find PPE. Our team worked with government agencies, local health authorities, and other community-based organizations to collaborate and collect PPE, which was then distributed to the families who needed it the most. This project enabled us to demonstrate our ability to come together during a crisis and ensure that those in need were provided with the necessary protection to stay safe.

Mobile Vaccinatin Clinics

In response to the pandemic, our organization has partnered with local public health authorities to provide mobile vaccination clinics. These clinics are designed to provide otherwise inaccessible vaccination services to communities that face transportation or language barriers. We are proud to leverage our community based organizations to offer interpretation for those with limited English proficiency, ensuring everyone has access to the necessary vaccinations. Our mobile vaccination clinics provide an important service that gives communities the opportunity to stay healthy and safe.
